The Wenchuan Special Tourist Area, also known as the Wenchuan Special Tourist Area, is a tourist attraction located in Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
The Wenchuan Special Tourist Area is a commemorative and cultural themed scenic spot specially developed after the reconstruction of the “5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake” in 2008. The tourist area covers Sanjiang Township, Yingxiu Town, and Shuimo Town in the southern part of Wenchuan County. It consists of the Yingxiu Earthquake Site (also known as the epicenter Yingxiu, Tiandi Yingxiu), Shuimo Ancient Town (also known as Shuimo Qiang City, Danqing Ink Painting), and Sanjiang Ecotourism Area (also known as Sanjiang Scenic Area, Yanyu Sanjiang). The tourist area has well preserved natural ecology, Tibetan and Qiang folk culture, and the historical culture of the Tea Horse Ancient Road. It is a scenic area that integrates sightseeing, experience, and summer vacation.
In 2013, the Wenchuan Special Tourist Area in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture was rated as a national AAAAA level tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration of the People’s Republic of China. Becoming the third national AAAAA level tourist attraction in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture.
