Wawu mountain is a high-quality ice and snow resource enrichment area with the longest ice and snow period and the closest to Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The snow cover starts from November every year and gradually disappears in May the next year. The snow cover time is as long as half a year, and the snow period spans winter and spring. In October every year, more than 1000 mu of colored leaf forest in Wawu mountain has entered the best viewing period. Due to the different varieties of trees, the leaves show light yellow, orange yellow and deep red over time. The colorful forest stretches from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. The continuous colorful forest is surrounded by the mountains, and the clouds are shrouded in the colorful forest, like a dream, like a poem and like a picture.
Wawu mountain is located in the “rain screen in West China” area with the most intensive rainfall in China. The well protected primeval forest on the top of the mountain and the huge platform on the top of the mountain form a natural water culvert area, and many springs form multiple waterfalls with a drop of more than 400 meters. The vast primeval forests and waterfalls make the negative oxygen ion content as high as 25000/cubic centimeter, and the average temperature in summer is about 16 ℃.
Wawu Mountain is hailed as “the World of Water, the Home of Caves, the Kingdom of Flowers, the Cradle of Snow, the Hometown of Clouds, and the Museum of Animals and Plants.” It boasts scenic delights across all seasons: azaleas in spring, waterfalls in summer, red leaves in autumn, and snow in winter.
